Panthers standout Christian McCaffrey was traded to the 49ers.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The San Francisco 49ers are giving the Carolina Panthers second-, third-
fourth-round selections in 2023, as well as a fifth-round pick in 2024, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday night.
The transaction provides San Francisco with the offensive playmaker it requires to challenge for a Super Bowl.
It provides McCaffrey the opportunity to play for a winning team for the first time since his rookie season in 2017 when Carolina finished 11-5
it brings him back to the Bay Area, where he shined at Stanford.
Meanwhile, the Panthers will replace McCaffrey with 2021 draft selections Chuba Hubbard and D'Onta Foreman, obtained in an offseason deal with the Tennessee Titans.
