He is the son of Simba and Nala, as well as Kiara’s brother, and is known for his bravery, intelligence, and compassion.
The lion guard Kion heard his best friend, Bunga, being assaulted by hyenas before becoming the Lion Guard’s leader, and he instinctively unleashed the Roar of the Elders to save him. Kion chose each of his pals to be a member: Bunga the honey badger as the bravest, Fuli the cheetah as the quickest, Ono the egret as the sharpest of eyes, and Beshte the hippopotamus as the strongest.

Kion returned to his friends and bestowed the Lion Guard mark on each of them. The crew successfully fought Janja and his tribe in their first fight. Where was Kion from The Lion Guard in The Lion King 2
Aside from the real-world response, which he had not yet thought about, the series itself provides some answers. Early in season one, we learn that The Lion Guard takes place in the time skip of Simba’s Pride; Kiara and Kovu had previously met but are not completely matured. The Lion Guard successfully meets the Outsiders, and Kovu, despite his age, is still pleasant and happy to see Kiara again. However, they are not seen for a long time following a conflict between the Guard and the Outsiders.
Some time later, the Guard departs the Pride Lands in order for two of its members to seek recovery for battle injuries at the Tree of Life, a remote magical sanctuary and site of healing. They’ve recently defeated a menace, and the Pride Lands appear to be at peace. As they go, Nala expresses her hope that they would return before Kiara’s first hunt. This places the moment just before adult Kiara’s debut scene in Simba’s Pride.

Following this, two of the Guard’s allies come, informing them that the Outsiders have returned and are invading the Pride Lands. The Guard instantly returns home, but Zira has died and the prides have been unified by the time they arrive. They are even misidentified as invaders and assaulted by a new Lion Guard commanded by Kovu’s sister Vitani before Kiara comes to clear things up.
