1. Moose (Alces alces)

The largest deer species, moose can weigh up to 1,800 pounds  and stand 6.9 feet tall at the shoulder. Their long legs and  paddle-shaped antlers make them a striking sight in northern forests. 

2. Elk (Cervus canadensis)  

Known as wapiti, elk weigh between 700 to 1,100 pounds and  stand about 5 feet tall. They are recognized for their large antlers and  distinctive bugling calls during mating season.
